Welcome to Mid-WesternProcesses.com
- a site that showcases the design -manufacturing and production line
creativity we apply to a wide variety of industries.
Mid-Western Processes, Inc. was established in 1975 and
is headquartered in Madison Heights, Michigan. Our products and services include the
design and manufacture of metal finishing systems, effluent waste management treatment systems,
mechanical and electrical controls, robotic welding and electroplating automation systems.
Our CAD/Cam design and prototype fabrication services allows us to work with clients from
inception to customer buy-off.. We proudly achieved ISO 9001 certification in 2000.
Controls Design
Mid-Western Processes, Inc. has been doing control
design for over 25 years. Our designs span a large variety of
applications: welding machines, assembly machines, material handling, conveyors, process control, inventory
storage/retrieval and other specialty production machines.
Our skills and services encompass the following
disciplines:
 |
Design: Electrical, Fluid, Logic, Human Machine Interface (HMI) |
 |
Machine Start-up / De-bug / existing line interfacing |
 |
Custom PLC and I/O controls with industry standard
communication S/W protocols |
Based on the project requirements and
the customers staff, Mid-Western Processes, Inc. can tailor the control approach to
meet the particular requirements of your current production environment.
Metal Finishing and Pollution Control
Mid-Western Processes, Inc. is
involved in virtually all phases of metal finishing, including anodizing, phosphating,
pickling, electrocoat paint, resource recovery, electroplating, continuous strip and tube
plating, plating on plastics and chemical processing.
There are currently over two hundred
Mid-Western Programmed Machine System hoists in operation. Hoist load capacities range from a few hundred
pounds to over 15,000 pounds, and production capabilities over 100,000 pounds per hour.
Our effluent treatment systems are modularized for efficient
installation, and range from small batch treatment to fully automated continuous systems
handling flows in excess of 200 gallons per minute. Chemical and physical treatment
systems can include (as required): hexavalent chromium reduction, cyanide oxidation,
neutralization, precipitation, clarification, sludge de-watering, evaporative recovery,
and ion exchange. Our filter presses range in capacity from 0.5 ft3 to 50 ft3.
Mid-Western Processes, Inc. designs and manufacturers systems to
handle a variety of difficult part handling situations
including load and unload systems. Other products include: hydrostatic level control systems
that are extremely accurate and unaffected by oils, foam and solids; control panels; "Barrel-Aire"
connector systems, which allow for production using rotating barrels and
racks in the same process line while eliminating any
electrical hazards.
E-Coat Painting
As part of Mid-Western Processes Inc. group, Bulk
Coating, LLC focuses on the application of Electrocoat paint on small
metallic parts. Our specialized equipment, named the "Bulkoter"
applies these coatings without the use of racks, fixtures, barrels,
baskets or trays. The labor savings due to the elimination of
racking and un-racking can be as
much as 70% of the cost of finishing. The equipment will apply any type of electrocoat
finish that can be applied in a rack or fixture environment. The parts can be any metal
that is presently Electrocoated and even metallized plastics.

Mid-Western Processes, Inc. makes
extensive utilization of programmable industrial computer and I/O controllers on all
systems we design and sell. We can offer a variety of computer-aided management systems to
provide real time man-machine interfaces and production or process data acquisition and
logging.
The expertise we apply to all our design and fabrication projects is
drawn from degreed personnel in the fields of chemical, mechanical, electrical and plant
engineering fields. Our understanding of the entire metal finishing and industrial
production line process has enabled us to design and install sound, reliable and efficient
systems compatible with our customers needs.
